Overview

This is an investigational combination regimen consisting of four agents: doxorubicin (an anthracycline antibiotic cytotoxic agent), vincristine (a vinca alkaloid antimitotic), rituximab (a chimeric monoclonal antibody targeting CD20 on B lymphocytes), and oxaliplatin (a platinum-based cytotoxic agent). Doxorubicin intercalates DNA and inhibits topoisomerase II, causing DNA breaks and apoptosis; vincristine inhibits microtubule polymerization, blocking mitosis; rituximab binds the CD20 antigen on B cells, inducing immune-mediated cell lysis; oxaliplatin causes DNA crosslinking, which inhibits replication and transcription leading to apoptosis. Regimens combining some of these drugs (e.g., R-CHOP: rituximab, cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, prednisone) or rituximab, oxaliplatin with gemcitabine (R-GemOx) are established in treatment of lymphomas, but the specific combination of doxorubicin, vincristine, rituximab, and oxaliplatin is not a standard named regimen and has not been specifically characterized in clinical guidelines or major studies.
