SOB101 is a first-in-class, genetically engineered exosome-based drug delivery system designed for targeted cancer therapy. It consists of an exosome equipped with an anti-human leukocyte antigen G (αHLA-G) nanobody to specifically target tumor cells expressing HLA-G, an immune checkpoint protein associated with immune evasion in cancer. The exosomes are loaded with the anthracycline chemotherapeutic agent doxorubicin. Preclinical studies have shown that SOB101 delivers higher concentrations of doxorubicin to tumors compared to unencapsulated or liposomal formulations and demonstrates superior antitumor efficacy without significant toxicity or adverse effects on vital organs. The product is being developed for oncology indications such as breast and ovarian cancer[1][2][4].
