Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**doxorubicin-MagSiNs** is an experimental, magnetically activated nanoparticle formulation that carries the anthracycline chemotherapy drug doxorubicin. Its MagSiN carrier comprises a magnetostrictive cobalt ferrite core enclosed by a piezoelectric fused-silica shell containing doxorubicin. An external low-strength magnetic field is intended to promote cancer-cell nanoporation and on-demand payload release, enabling localized doxorubicin cytotoxicity while limiting exposure of normal endothelial cells. The platform has been evaluated in vitro in metastatic triple-negative breast cancer, ovarian cancer, and prostate cancer cell models; it is not an approved medicine or a registered clinical-stage product.
