Drug intelligence / Profile preview
DP007 is a climate-friendly, pressurized metered-dose inhaler (pMDI) formulation of albuterol, developed by DevPro Biopharma in collaboration with Bespak. Designed as a Ventolin-equivalent rescue inhaler, DP007 utilizes Honeywell's Solstice Air (HFO-1234ze(E) cGMP), a hydrofluoroolefin (HFO) propellant with near-zero global warming potential (GWP) that reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 99.9% compared to traditional hydrofluoroalkane (HFA) propellants. Albuterol acts as a selective beta-2 adrenergic receptor agonist, inducing bronchodilation to relieve bronchospasm. DP007 is currently in preclinical and IND-enabling development for the treatment of asthma and bronchospasm, with early feasibility studies completed.
