Overview

DP2018 is a long-acting, octreotide-based somatostatin receptor (SSTR) agonist developed by Dauntless Pharmaceuticals. It is formulated as a microsphere depot for sustained release, intended for the treatment of acromegaly and other endocrine and metabolic diseases. As a synthetic peptide analog of natural somatostatin, it binds to SSTRs to inhibit the pathological overproduction of growth hormone (GH) and insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1). The depot formulation is designed to provide prolonged therapeutic levels of the drug, potentially improving patient compliance by reducing injection frequency compared to immediate-release somatostatin analogs.
