Drug intelligence / Profile preview
DPF-19 (also known as DPF19) is a novel, fire-retardant emollient gel developed by Dermal Laboratories for the management of dry and itchy skin conditions, including eczema, psoriasis, and elderly pruritus. Unlike traditional oil-based emollients, which present a significant fire hazard when residues accumulate on clothing and bedding, DPF-19 is formulated with fire-retardant properties to prevent fabric ignition upon exposure to low-energy household heat sources. In clinical evaluations, the topical gel demonstrated high cosmetic acceptability, superior skin hydration, and effective itch relief, making it a safer alternative for patients requiring chronic emollient therapy.
