Overview

DPI-387 is a preclinical-stage small molecule drug candidate being developed by Defender Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), Treatment-Resistant Depression (TRD), and Bipolar Depression. The drug is a scopolamine-related muscarinic acetylcholine receptor antagonist (anticholinergic) designed for intranasal administration. It leverages Defender's intranasal delivery technology and platform molecule, scopolamine, to facilitate rapid delivery to the central nervous system. This approach aims to provide the rapid-acting antidepressant effects associated with scopolamine while optimizing the pharmacokinetic profile through a non-invasive nasal route.
