Drug intelligence / Profile preview
dPLTs-01 is an engineered platelet-based drug delivery platform being developed by HemaCell Therapeutics (also known as Xue Ji Bio). This cell therapy utilizes O-type platelets, which are engineered to carry therapeutic payloads or modulate platelet-related disease processes. By using O-type platelets, the platform aims to provide a universal donor solution that avoids the need for HLA matching and reduces the risk of immune-mediated rejection. The therapeutic strategy leverages the innate biological properties of platelets, such as their ability to home to sites of vascular damage and inflammation, to deliver drugs specifically to target tissues. It is currently in the preclinical stage for the treatment of platelet disorders and as a vehicle for targeted drug delivery.
