Overview

DPPTE-AuPET3 is an experimental gold–phospholipid complex in which a thiol-functionalized phospholipid (DPPTE) is coordinated to a triethylphosphine gold moiety (AuPEt3), designed as a glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPx4)–inhibiting gold salt phospholipid for cancer research, including mantle cell lymphoma models.[4] It is typically formulated within high-density lipoprotein (HDL)-mimetic nanoparticles to enhance tumor-selective delivery and exploit ferroptosis-like cell death pathways via GPx4 inhibition, but it is not a clinically developed pharmaceutical and is used only in preclinical laboratory studies.[4]
