Drug intelligence / Profile preview
DPT0218 is a gut-restricted, small molecule inhibitor of the voltage-gated potassium channel Kv1.3, currently in preclinical development by DP Technology. Discovered using the RiDYMO® AI-driven drug design platform, DPT0218 is designed to treat autoimmune diseases such as Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) and Atopic Dermatitis (AD). The compound exhibits sub-nanomolar potency and high selectivity (>2000-fold) for Kv1.3 over other ion channels. Its unique pharmacokinetic profile features high concentrations in the colon and ileum with minimal systemic exposure, potentially offering an improved safety profile by localized action. Preclinical studies have demonstrated its ability to inhibit T cell activation, proliferation, and cytokine secretion.
