DPV-001 is a first-in-class dendritic cell-targeted (DC-targeted) complex immune activator and cancer vaccine developed by UbiVac. It is an "off-the-shelf" immunotherapy designed to induce or boost anti-tumor immunity across a broad spectrum of solid tumors, including non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC), prostate cancer, breast cancer, bladder cancer, gastric and esophageal cancers, colon and rectal cancers, ovarian and cervical cancers, kidney cancer, brain tumors (glioblastoma multiforme), among others. The drug consists of tumor-derived autophagosomes ("DRibbles") enriched with more than 100 tumor-associated antigens (TAAs) as well as multiple Toll-like receptor agonists. These vesicles present short-lived proteins and defective ribosomal products that are typically not processed by professional antigen-presenting cells. By presenting these antigens in the context of damage-associated molecular patterns (DAMPs) and TLR agonists to dendritic cells in lymph nodes via intranodal injection, DPV-001 stimulates both CD4+ and CD8+ T-cell responses against tumor cells. Early clinical data show that it can induce or boost immune responses in all patients evaluated so far[1][3][6][8].
