Overview

DQ1001 is an investigational allogeneic, "off-the-shelf" chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy designed to simultaneously target B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA) and G protein-coupled receptor class C group 5 member D (GPRC5D). Developed by Zhongshan Hospital (Xiamen) of Fudan University, DQ1001 is being evaluated for the treatment of relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma. As an allogeneic product, it is derived from healthy donor T cells rather than the patient's own cells, which allows for immediate availability and potentially overcomes manufacturing challenges associated with autologous CAR-T therapies. The dual-targeting strategy aims to enhance therapeutic efficacy and mitigate the risk of disease relapse driven by antigen escape, a common mechanism of resistance in single-target CAR-T therapies.
