DR10601 is a fully recombinant, long-acting hybrid peptide that acts as a dual agonist at both the glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor (GLP-1R) and the glucagon receptor (GCGR). It is designed to combine the beneficial effects of GLP-1 and glucagon signaling for metabolic disease treatment. In preclinical studies, DR10601 demonstrated potent dual agonistic activity by inducing cAMP accumulation in cells expressing either GLP-1R or GCGR. Subcutaneous administration in animal models resulted in sustained glycemic control and significant body weight reduction, with efficacy comparable to or exceeding established agents like dulaglutide and liraglutide. The drug has a prolonged plasma half-life (~52 hours in rats), supporting its potential as an infrequently dosed therapy for type 2 diabetes mellitus and obesity[1][10].
