Overview

DR5-12D is a monoclonal antibody designed to stabilize the Na+/K+-ATPase (NKA) alpha-1 subunit by targeting its DR region (residues 897-911). In preclinical models of Parkinson's disease, the antibody has demonstrated neuroprotective effects by reversing NKA activity deficits and promoting the degradation of alpha-synuclein. Its mechanism of action involves the activation of NKA alpha-1-dependent autophagy through the AMPK/mTOR/ULK1 signaling pathway, which helps preserve tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) levels and improves motor and cognitive functions.
