Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Draxaban is an oral anticoagulant containing the active ingredient rivaroxaban, developed and manufactured by TQ Pharma (Al-Taqaddom Pharmaceutical Industries). It is a small molecule that acts as a direct Factor Xa inhibitor. By selectively and reversibly blocking the active site of Factor Xa, Draxaban inhibits the conversion of prothrombin to thrombin, which in turn prevents the formation of fibrin and blood clots. It is indicated for the prevention and treatment of various thromboembolic disorders, including deep vein thrombosis (DVT), pulmonary embolism (PE), and the prevention of stroke and systemic embolism in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation.
