Overview

DRD2 RNAi refers to the use of RNA interference (RNAi) technology, such as small interfering RNA (siRNA) or short hairpin RNA (shRNA), to specifically silence the expression of the dopamine receptor D2 (DRD2). In the context of oncology research, particularly pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), DRD2 has been identified as a key modulator of cancer pathways. Inhibiting DRD2 via RNAi has been shown to hamper the proliferative and invasive capacities of pancreatic cancer cells by modulating cAMP and endoplasmic reticulum stress pathways. While primarily used as a research tool to validate DRD2 as a therapeutic target, this approach demonstrates the potential for DRD2-targeted therapies in treating primary and metastatic tumors.
