Drug intelligence / Profile preview
DRGT-46 is a novel, fast-acting oral formulation of celecoxib developed by Druggability Technologies (DRGT) using its proprietary Super-API drug development platform. Celecoxib is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that acts as a selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor. DRGT-46 is engineered to significantly enhance the absorption rate of the active ingredient, achieving a peak plasma concentration (Tmax) within 30 to 45 minutes, compared to approximately 180 minutes for conventional celecoxib capsules like Celebrex. This rapid onset of action makes it particularly suitable for the treatment of acute and chronic pain conditions, including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and primary dysmenorrhea. Phase I clinical trials have demonstrated its ability to reach therapeutic plasma levels up to six times faster than branded celecoxib products, with no significant safety issues reported.
