Drioff

Drioff is a non-prescription topical antiperspirant formulation containing 1% aluminum acetate as its active ingredient. Developed and studied by researchers at Northwestern University, it is intended for the treatment of hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating). The drug was evaluated in a randomized, contralateral clinical trial (NCT00509886) where it was compared to prescription-strength Drysol (20% aluminum chloride) to assess its efficacy in controlling sweat production in healthy adults. Like other aluminum-based antiperspirants, Drioff works by forming superficial plugs within the sweat gland ducts, physically blocking the release of sweat to the skin surface.
