DropLess

DropLess is a compounded injectable medication developed by Imprimis Pharmaceuticals (now Harrow Health) for use during cataract surgery. It typically consists of a combination of a corticosteroid, such as triamcinolone acetonide, and one or more antibiotics, most commonly moxifloxacin (Tri-Moxi) and sometimes vancomycin (Tri-Moxi-Vanc). The formulation is designed for intraocular administration—either via transzonular or intravitreal injection—at the conclusion of surgery. By delivering a sustained-release anti-inflammatory and broad-spectrum antibiotic directly into the eye, DropLess aims to eliminate the need for patients to adhere to a complex post-operative regimen of topical eye drops. This approach addresses issues with patient compliance, reduces the risk of endophthalmitis and cystoid macular edema, and simplifies the recovery process for both patients and surgeons.
