Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Droptop** is an oral fixed-dose combination of **ezetimibe** and **rosuvastatin** developed and marketed by Ildong Pharmaceutical for dyslipidemia. Ezetimibe inhibits intestinal cholesterol uptake through Niemann-Pick C1-like protein 1, while rosuvastatin is a selective competitive inhibitor of 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-coenzyme A reductase that suppresses hepatic cholesterol synthesis and increases clearance of circulating low-density-lipoprotein cholesterol. ID1805 was used with the amlodipine/valsartan product ID1803 as a comparator regimen for Ildong's four-drug hypertension and dyslipidemia fixed-dose combination ID14009.
