Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Dori Plus is an oral combination drug containing drotaverine hydrochloride, an antispasmodic agent, and simethicone, an antifoaming agent. Developed and distributed by Ind Blues Pharma, it is primarily indicated for the relief of abdominal pain, bloating, and spasmodic discomfort associated with gastrointestinal spasms and gas in pediatric patients. Drotaverine acts as a selective phosphodiesterase-4 (PDE4) inhibitor, which increases cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) levels in smooth muscle cells, leading to smooth muscle relaxation. Simethicone acts as a surfactant that reduces the surface tension of gas bubbles in the gastrointestinal tract, causing them to coalesce into larger bubbles that are more easily expelled.
