Drug X + Drug Y

Drug X + Drug Y is a combination therapy being developed by BioConvergent Health for the treatment of various unspecified cancers. The combination consists of **Drug X** (also known as **BCH-001**), a clinical-stage small molecule radiosensitizer, and **Drug Y** (also known as **BCH-002**), a clinical-stage small molecule. Drug X is an **IAP (Inhibitor of Apoptosis Protein) antagonist** (SMAC mimetic) that targets proteins such as XIAP, cIAP1, and cIAP2 to lower the threshold for apoptosis in tumor cells, thereby enhancing the efficacy of ionizing radiation. Drug Y is a **thrombopoietin (TPO) receptor agonist** designed to stimulate platelet production. In the context of this combination, Drug Y is utilized to prevent or mitigate radiation-induced thrombocytopenia, a common hematologic toxicity that often limits the intensity and duration of radiotherapy. Drug X has demonstrated clinical proof-of-concept in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), while Drug Y has shown proof-of-concept in treating thrombocytopenia associated with low-risk myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS).
