Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Drusen Laz is an investigational oral antioxidant combination therapy developed by the University of Guadalajara. It is specifically formulated to mitigate oxidative stress and improve mitochondrial function in patients with proliferative diabetic retinopathy. The formulation contains a blend of carotenoids (lutein, astaxanthin, zeaxanthin), vitamins (C and E), and minerals (zinc and copper). It is currently being evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials to assess its impact on oxidative stress markers in the aqueous and vitreous humor of patients undergoing vitrectomy for diabetic retinopathy.
