Overview

The aqueous fraction of Dryopteris ramosa is a botanical research compound derived from the fronds of the fern species *Dryopteris ramosa* (Hope) C. Chr., which belongs to the Dryopteridaceae family. This extract is primarily investigated for its antimicrobial, gastrointestinal, and antioxidant properties. It contains a complex mixture of bioactive phytochemicals, including iriflophenone-3-C-beta-D glucopyranoside as a key constituent, alongside flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, tannins, glycosides, and triterpenoids. Research has demonstrated its potential efficacy against gastrointestinal pathogens such as *Klebsiella pneumoniae*, *Staphylococcus aureus*, and *Escherichia coli*, as well as its anti-inflammatory and antiulcer activities. Additionally, studies have explored its cytotoxic potential against liver and prostate cancer cell lines. It is currently studied in academic research settings and has no identified commercial pharmaceutical developer.
