Dryopteris ramosa ethyl acetate fraction is a phytochemical extract derived from the fern Dryopteris ramosa (family Dryopteridaceae). It is characterized by a rich profile of bioactive secondary metabolites, including flavonoids, flavonoid O-glycosides, phloroglucinol derivatives, and phenolic acids. Research indicates that this fraction possesses cytotoxic potential against human liver cancer (HepG-2) and prostate cancer (PC-3) cells, as demonstrated in MTT assays. While it exhibits anti-proliferative effects, it has been noted to have lower potency than the chloroform and n-hexane fractions of the same plant. Importantly, the fraction shows negligible toxicity toward non-cancerous cells (BHK-21), suggesting a favorable safety profile for further development as an anticancer therapeutic.
