Overview
DS-1471a is a humanized IgG4 monoclonal antibody developed by Daiichi Sankyo that targets CD147 (also known as Basigin or EMMPRIN), a membrane protein implicated in tumor cell survival, proliferation, and metastasis. By binding to CD147, DS-1471a inhibits the formation of complexes between CD147 and its binding partners (such as MCT1, CD44, and integrins), leading to their delocalization and degradation. This downregulation of CD147 induces cellular stress responses that promote cancer cell apoptosis. The drug is being investigated for its antineoplastic activity in advanced solid tumors and is currently in Phase 1 clinical trials[5][6][2][3].
