Overview

DS-5573a is an afucosylated humanized monoclonal antibody that targets the immunoregulatory protein B7-homologue 3 (B7-H3, also known as CD276), which is highly expressed in a variety of tumors and associated with poor prognosis. By binding to B7-H3 on tumor cells, DS-5573a blocks B7-H3-mediated signaling and exerts antitumor effects primarily through enhanced antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) and antibody-dependent cellular phagocytosis (ADCP). The drug was developed by Daiichi Sankyo for the treatment of cancers expressing B7-H3. Preclinical studies demonstrated significant antitumor activity in models with functional effector immune cells[1][2][5][6][8].
