Overview

DS2 is a next-generation Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) vaccine antigen. It was developed by scientists at the United States National Institutes of Health's (NIH) Vaccine Research Center and National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. Vaxxas, a clinical-stage biotechnology company, has obtained a worldwide license for DS2 and plans to combine it with its proprietary high-density microarray patch (HD-MAP) delivery platform. The goal is to create a needle-free, room-temperature stable RSV vaccine that offers a more robust and durable immune response compared to currently approved vaccines, while also enabling potential self-administration and eliminating the need for refrigerated distribution.
