Drug intelligence / Profile preview
DSP-8658 is a novel selective peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha/gamma (PPARα/γ) modulator. It is primarily being developed for the treatment of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. Unlike PPARγ full agonists, DSP-8658 improves blood glucose levels without increasing adipogenesis in diabetic obese mice. Additionally, it has shown potential in enhancing microglial amyloid-β phagocytosis, which could be beneficial in Alzheimer's disease treatment.
