Drug intelligence / Profile preview
DSP-Visulex is a proprietary ophthalmic formulation of dexamethasone sodium phosphate delivered via the Visulex-P (passive) non-invasive drug delivery system. Developed by Aciont, Inc., it is specifically designed for the treatment of non-infectious anterior uveitis. The system utilizes a 5-minute topical application to deliver high concentrations (8% or 15%) of the corticosteroid, allowing for a significantly reduced dosing frequency—typically twice in the first week followed by weekly applications—compared to standard daily eye drops. Clinical Phase 1/2 data indicates that DSP-Visulex provides efficacy comparable to daily 1% prednisolone acetate drops with a favorable safety and tolerability profile.
