DSS1 siRNA is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to target and knock down the expression of the DSS1 (deleted in split-hand/split-foot malformation 1, also known as SEM1) gene. DSS1 is a highly conserved protein that plays critical roles in stabilizing BRCA2, regulating homologous recombination, and maintaining RNA-mediated genomic stability as a member of the TREX2 complex. In preclinical research, DSS1 siRNA is utilized as a laboratory tool to investigate the functional role of DSS1 in cancer cell proliferation, DNA damage repair, and chemosensitivity. Knockdown of DSS1 via siRNA has been shown to highly sensitize breast cancer cells to DNA-damaging chemotherapeutic agents (such as doxorubicin, paclitaxel, camptothecin, and etoposide) in a BRCA2-independent manner, highlighting DSS1 as a potential therapeutic target for overcoming drug resistance.
