Overview

DT-101 is a designation used for two distinct therapeutic candidates currently in clinical development. The most prominent is a small molecule positive allosteric modulator (PAM) of the AMPA receptor developed by **Draig Therapeutics**, a spinout from Cardiff University's Medicines Discovery Institute. This asset is being developed for the treatment of **Major Depressive Disorder (MDD)** and is entering Phase 2 clinical trials following a $140 million Series A financing round in late 2024. By modulating AMPA receptor activity, the drug aims to enhance glutamatergic neurotransmission and synaptic plasticity, addressing treatment-resistant forms of depression. Separately, DT-101 refers to an experimental topical ointment being evaluated in a Phase 0 pilot study by **Xiangya Hospital** of Central South University for the treatment of **Recessive Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa (RDEB)**. In the RDEB context, the drug is applied topically to paired skin wounds to evaluate its safety and impact on wound healing in patients with this rare genetic skin fragility disorder.
