DT-102 is an investigational small molecule inhibitor of the epithelial sodium channel (ENaC), developed by Draig Therapeutics for the treatment of chronic respiratory diseases, including cystic fibrosis (CF), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and bronchiectasis. By inhibiting ENaC in the airway epithelium, DT-102 aims to reduce the hyperabsorption of sodium and water, thereby increasing the volume of the airway surface liquid (ASL). This mechanism is intended to hydrate the airways, decrease mucus viscosity, and restore effective mucociliary clearance, which is often impaired in inflammatory lung conditions. As of 2024, DT-102 is undergoing Phase 1 clinical evaluation in healthy volunteers to establish its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetic profile, often studied in conjunction with Draig's lead candidate, DT-101.
