Overview

dTACE-HAIC is a combination treatment protocol developed by the Second Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University for the treatment of unresectable large hepatocellular carcinoma (>7cm). The protocol integrates Drug-Eluting Bead Transarterial Chemoembolization (DEB-TACE) using pirarubicin-loaded CalliSpheres with Hepatic Arterial Infusion Chemotherapy (HAIC) using the FOLFOX regimen (oxaliplatin, 5-fluorouracil, and leucovorin). This dual approach combines the embolization-induced ischemia and localized high-concentration chemotherapy of DEB-TACE with the continuous regional infusion of HAIC to maximize anti-tumor efficacy. The treatment is currently being evaluated in a Phase 3 clinical trial to compare its effectiveness and safety against HAIC alone.
