Drug intelligence / Profile preview
DTaP + HepB + IPV vaccine is a **combination vaccine** that provides immunization against **diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), hepatitis B, and poliovirus** (types 1, 2, and 3). It contains **diphtheria toxoid**, **tetanus toxoid**, **acellular pertussis antigens** (inactivated pertussis toxin, filamentous hemagglutinin, pertactin, fimbriae types 2 and 3), **hepatitis B surface antigen**, and **inactivated poliovirus**. The vaccine acts by eliciting an immune response against the bacteria and viruses responsible for these serious diseases, stimulating the production of protective antibodies. It is used as part of the routine pediatric vaccination series to confer immunity early in life and reduce the morbidity and mortality associated with these infections[3][7].
