Drug intelligence / Profile preview
DTaP-HepB (also known as DTacP-HepB) is a combination vaccine candidate designed to immunize against four infectious diseases: diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), and hepatitis B. It was initiated as a development project in 2012 by Global Biotech Products (GBP, formerly GPO-MBP), a joint venture between Thailand's Government Pharmaceutical Organization (GPO) and Sanofi Pasteur. The vaccine is formulated with diphtheria toxoid, tetanus toxoid, acellular pertussis antigens, and hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) to stimulate the production of protective antibodies against *Corynebacterium diphtheriae*, *Clostridium tetani*, *Bordetella pertussis*, and Hepatitis B virus. It is designed to provide a safer profile with fewer side effects compared to whole-cell pertussis combination vaccines.
