The DTaP-HepB-IPV-Hib vaccine is a hexavalent pediatric combination vaccine designed to provide active immunization against six major infectious diseases: diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), hepatitis B, poliomyelitis, and invasive diseases caused by *Haemophilus influenzae* type b (Hib). It typically consists of diphtheria and tetanus toxoids, acellular pertussis antigens (including pertussis toxoid, filamentous haemagglutinin, and pertactin), recombinant hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg), inactivated poliovirus types 1, 2, and 3, and Hib capsular polysaccharide conjugated to a carrier protein. In a specific clinical trial context (NCT01746121) conducted by University Hospital, Grenoble, this vaccine was evaluated in hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT) recipients to determine if a fourth dose could improve antibody response in patients who showed suboptimal immunity after the standard three-dose primary series. The trial was terminated early due to a lower-than-expected incidence of suboptimal immune response in the study population.
