Overview

This is a combination immunization regimen consisting of multiple pediatric vaccines administered together. The components are: - **DTaP-IPV-Hep B-PRP~T**: A pentavalent or hexavalent combination vaccine that protects against diphtheria, tetanus, acellular pertussis (whooping cough), inactivated poliovirus, hepatitis B virus and Haemophilus influenzae type b. The PRP-T component refers to the polyribosyl-ribitol-phosphate–tetanus toxoid conjugate used for Hib protection. Mechanism of action is induction of active immunity by stimulating antibody production against each pathogen[1][5]. - **Prevenar**: Brand name for Prevenar 13, a pneumococcal polysaccharide conjugate vaccine covering 13 serotypes of Streptococcus pneumoniae. It works by inducing antibodies to the capsular polysaccharides[6]. - **Rotarix**: An oral live attenuated rotavirus vaccine that induces mucosal and systemic immunity against rotavirus gastroenteritis. - **Infanrix hexa**: A hexavalent combination vaccine containing DTaP (diphtheria-tetanus-acellular pertussis), IPV (inactivated poliovirus), Hib (Haemophilus influenzae type b) and hepatitis B antigens. These vaccines are primarily indicated for routine immunization in infants and young children to prevent serious bacterial and viral infections including diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio, hepatitis B infection, invasive Hib disease, pneumococcal disease and rotavirus gastroenteritis[1][4][6].
