DTaP-IPV-Hep B-PRP~T vaccine

DTaP-IPV-Hep B-PRP~T vaccine (brand name: Hexaxim) is a fully liquid, hexavalent combination vaccine developed by Sanofi Pasteur. It is designed for primary and booster vaccination of infants and young children against six major infectious diseases: diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), poliomyelitis, hepatitis B, and invasive diseases caused by Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib). The vaccine contains diphtheria and tetanus toxoids, a two-component acellular pertussis (aP) component (pertussis toxoid and filamentous haemagglutinin), recombinant hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg), inactivated poliovirus (IPV) types 1, 2, and 3, and Hib capsular polysaccharide (PRP) conjugated to tetanus protein (PRP~T). A key advantage of this formulation is that it is fully liquid and ready to use, eliminating the need for reconstitution of the Hib component, which simplifies administration and reduces the risk of errors.
