Overview

DTI-117 is a novel, next-generation neurokinin 2 receptor (NK2R) agonist under development for the on-demand induction of defecation and urination. It is designed to directly stimulate smooth muscle contraction in both the bladder and bowel, resulting in rapid and transient voiding within minutes of administration. The drug can be delivered as a sublingual film or via intramuscular injection. DTI-117 demonstrates high selectivity for NK2R over NK1R, with functional studies showing it acts as a full agonist at human recombinant NK2Rs. Its primary indications are neurogenic bowel and urinary bladder dysfunctions, particularly targeting populations such as those with spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, diabetes, or elderly patients experiencing voiding dysfunction. It is being developed by Dignify Therapeutics.
