Overview

DTI-301 is a rectal suppository drug candidate developed by Dignify Therapeutics for the rapid induction of on-demand defecation. It acts locally in the colorectum to initiate rapid contraction and produce defecation within minutes of administration. The mechanism of action involves modulation of the TRPV1 (vanilloid) receptor, which is associated with triggering colorectal contractions. This local delivery allows for lower doses and reduced systemic exposure. The drug is being investigated primarily for constipation, neurogenic bowel, and urination disorders[1][2][3][5].
