Overview

DTP (Biomed-Lublin) is a trivalent combination vaccine developed and manufactured by IBSS Biomed S.A. (Biomed-Lublin) for the active immunization of infants and children against diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis (whooping cough). The vaccine is an "adsorbed" formulation, meaning the antigens are bound to an aluminum salt (aluminum hydroxide) to enhance the immune response. It consists of purified diphtheria toxoid, purified tetanus toxoid, and a suspension of killed *Bordetella pertussis* bacilli, representing a whole-cell pertussis (DTwP) vaccine. Upon administration, it stimulates the production of specific antitoxins and antibodies, providing active adaptive immunity against the toxins produced by *Corynebacterium diphtheriae* and *Clostridium tetani*, as well as the cellular components of *Bordetella pertussis*.
