Overview

The DTP-HepB-IPV-Hib vaccine is a hexavalent combination immunization designed to protect against six serious childhood diseases: diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), hepatitis B, poliomyelitis (polio), and invasive disease caused by Haemophilus influenzae type b. It contains inactivated or subunit antigens for each pathogen. The mechanism of action is immunostimulation—eliciting protective immune responses against all included pathogens. This combination reduces the number of injections required in early childhood vaccination schedules and has demonstrated safety and effectiveness in clinical trials and post-marketing surveillance[1][5][8]. The primary indication is the prevention of these six diseases in infants and young children.
