Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The DTP-HepB-IPV-Hib vaccine is a hexavalent (6-in-1) combination pediatric immunization that protects against six serious diseases: diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), hepatitis B, poliomyelitis, and Haemophilus influenzae type b infections. It contains inactivated or toxoid components for each disease and works by stimulating the immune system to produce protective antibodies. The primary indication is the prevention of these diseases in infants and young children. This combination reduces the number of injections required compared to separate vaccines[1][3][7]. Developers include LG Chem and Sanofi[6][8].
