Overview

DTX-SPL8783 (also known as DEP docetaxel) is a dendrimer-drug conjugate developed by Starpharma using its proprietary DEP® (Dendrimer Enhanced Product) platform. The drug consists of docetaxel molecules covalently attached to a dendrimer nanoparticle scaffold via a controlled-release linker. This nanomedicine formulation is designed to improve the therapeutic index of docetaxel by enhancing tumor accumulation through the enhanced permeability and retention (EPR) effect, extending plasma half-life, and reducing systemic toxicities such as neutropenia and hypersensitivity reactions. DTX-SPL8783 is currently in Phase 1/2 clinical development for the treatment of advanced solid tumors, including non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), where it is being studied as both a monotherapy and in combination with other anti-cancer agents like nintedanib.
