Dual-targeting HER2 and PD-L1 CAR-T cells are a novel immunotherapy approach designed to simultaneously target two distinct tumor-associated antigens: Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2 (HER2) and Programmed Death-Ligand 1 (PD-L1). This therapy involves genetically modifying a patient's T cells to express chimeric antigen receptors that can recognize and bind to both HER2 and PD-L1 on tumor cells. Upon administration, these engineered T cells target and bind to HER2- and PD-L1-expressing tumor cells, inducing selective toxicity against cancer cells while potentially overcoming immune evasion mechanisms. This dual-targeting approach aims to enhance antitumor efficacy and reduce the risk of antigen escape, which is a common cause of relapse in single-target CAR-T therapies.
