The Duck Tembusu virus inactivated vaccine (HB strain) is a veterinary biologic developed by Youbang Pharmaceutical for the prevention and control of Duck Tembusu virus disease in domestic ducks. The vaccine utilizes the HB strain of the Duck Tembusu virus (DTMUV), which is propagated in duck embryos and subsequently inactivated using formaldehyde treatment. It is formulated as an oil-emulsion vaccine, typically using mineral oil as an adjuvant to enhance the immune response. Upon administration via intramuscular or subcutaneous injection, the vaccine induces protective humoral and cellular immunity against DTMUV. Clinical studies indicate that the vaccine provides significant protection (over 80%) against virulent virus challenge, with immunity lasting approximately 4 to 6 months. Duck Tembusu virus disease is an emerging infectious disease in waterfowl characterized by severe egg drop syndrome and neurological symptoms.
