Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Duhuo Jisheng Decoction (DHJSD) is a classic Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula first documented in the 7th-century text *Bei Ji Qian Jin Yao Fang* by Sun Simiao. It is widely utilized for the treatment of chronic pain and inflammatory conditions, particularly knee osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and lower back pain. The decoction typically comprises 15 herbal ingredients, including *Radix Angelicae Pubescentis* (Duhuo) and *Taxillus chinensis* (Sangjisheng), which are believed to exert anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and chondroprotective effects. Recent clinical research, such as studies conducted by the Shaoxing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, has focused on the formula's ability to modulate the PGAM1-mediated glycolysis pathway in fibroblast-like synoviocytes (FLS). By inhibiting this metabolic pathway, DHJSD aims to reduce synovial inflammation and joint degradation in patients with knee osteoarthritis.
