Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Duhuo Jisheng Tang (DHJST) is a classic Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula widely used for the treatment of chronic inflammatory conditions, particularly rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and osteoarthritis. It is traditionally indicated for Bi-syndrome characterized by liver and kidney deficiency and wind-cold-dampness. The formula typically consists of 15 medicinal herbs, including *Angelica pubescens* and *Taxillus chinensis*. Modern pharmacological studies suggest that DHJST exerts anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and immunomodulatory effects by inhibiting pro-inflammatory cytokines (such as TNF-alpha and IL-1beta) and regulating the RANKL/OPG signaling pathway. Recent clinical research, such as that conducted by Longhua Hospital, explores its role in improving lymphatic drainage to reduce joint swelling and disease activity in RA patients.
