DuoChol

DuoChol is a dry-formulation, low-cost oral cholera vaccine (OCV) developed as an inactivated bacterial whole-cell vaccine combined with a recombinant cholera toxin B subunit (rCTB). Unlike traditional liquid OCVs like Dukoral, DuoChol is presented in a lyophilized capsule form, which enhances thermostability and reduces weight and volume for easier transport and storage. It contains formalin-inactivated *Vibrio cholerae* O1 El Tor strains (serotypes Inaba and Ogawa) and rCTB. The vaccine is being co-developed by the International Vaccine Institute (IVI) in collaboration with Gotovax AB and the University of Gothenburg to provide a more accessible prevention tool for cholera-endemic regions.
